Said to look for a check in the mail (didn’t use real address, used a p.o. box) and to deduct what he was paying for and give the rest to the “movers” he was sending to pick it up. (Item is one box and doesn’t require mover). Then received check for over 1000 more than what was agreed upon. Under someone else’s name. On a flimsy paper check. After some VERY LIGHT googling the we discovered the check came with a body shop as an address and a cat rescue on the check. “Donald” was very pushy about making sure I cash the check upon receipt and I immediately thought something was off. I have blocked the number and person from all platforms.

Someone called me at my office. Said his name was Donald and it was a TX cell phone according to caller ID. Said it was not a marketing call and just needed employment verification. He knew my name and title, asked me if that was correct. I said "yes" he said thank you and hung up.
