Someone called the business that I work for claiming he was calling from "Dominion Power" which is now Dominion Energy so that was my first tip. They threatened to cut off our power because they said they did not receive our last two payments. The guy then told me to call the billing department and gave me a phone number. When I called it, it went to voicemail. I called Dominion Energy customer service and they said that my payments were up to date and it was a scammer.

Our Director received a phone call from 1-800-250-7305. The caller identified themselves as from Dominion Energy Services and that they were trying to collect a past due payment or power would be disconnected in an hour. The person gave a work order number. As Business Manager, I called the number given when I returned to the office within a few minutes. The person answered identified the number as Dominion Energy Services. When asked, they gave me their name as Steve Cook. With further questioning, they claimed that the outstanding payment was from February and they we should have received a pink statement regarding the billing but that we had not contacted them prior to today so the account was due for immediate disconnection. Upon further questioning by me to identify the account, they gave me a Business Name that is not how we are billed. They used a common local designation for our site rather than our actual business name. They also gave me a fake account number when I asked what the account number related to the past due payment. When I told them that number was not our account the person hung up
