I was told that my service would be disconnected within 45 minutes due to lack of payment on my account. I said that was not correct. He repeated the statement. I again said that was not correct and hung up. (I did not give the person a chance to ask for payment.)

I called the number back and received a generic voice-mail to leave a message.

Received a call at work from "Kevin Sanchez" who claimed to be from Dominion Energy. I told him our building manager was not there and he could leave a voicemail. He told me that my power was going to be cut in 45 minutes and then gave me a phone number to call to fix the "issue": 1-800-790-0494. He said he was just a tech and couldn’t do anything about it. He also gave me a case number: NP27715095. He asked me to repeat both numbers back to him to ensure I had written it down then he hung up.

Received a robo call claiming to be from Dominion Energy stating "my electricity will be disconnected in 30 minutes", and to call 800-369-6514 to avoid disconnection. The number that shows up on my caller ID is in fant the customer service number for Dominion (I logged in to my Dominion acct to locate the correct contact number), but of course, the robo call directs me to contact the number listed above. I have received this call multiple times, and am concerned as to how they are able to show Dominion’s contact number on the caller ID? As a note, my electricity payment is not default.

Thank you!

I received a letter addressed to me personally warning that ‘my’ water line was in danger of costing me -personally- for repairs. I do NOT have a ‘water line’. The letter continues with dire warnings of financial consequences IF I do NOT sign-up for their ‘protection’ (tried to extort a monthly fee from my credit card).

In checking ScamPulse.com’s ‘Business Profile’ for Dominion Energy I further found out that they ‘partnered’ against their customers in this scam where THEY receive part of the ‘take’ in exchange for the use of my personal information from their ‘Customer Database’ under the name of ‘Dominion Products and Services Inc.’, a shell company created to exploit customer data for profit.

On 3/29/2019 at 15:15 our business received a phone call with caller ID Dominion Energy from 888-667-3000 telling us that our power was going to be cut off in one hour due to non payment. They gave me a phone number 800-240-3217 to call to make a payment. They answered Dominion Energy Collections and when I told him I didn’t understand because we were set up on automatic billing, he said it hasn’t been working. I asked if this was a scam and then was put on hold, then they came back on and hung up.

Robo call-when call back the "operator" is very authentic Music on hold, the extension choices. This one is as close to the real Dominion Power I’ve heard yet. They want your payment or else the technicians will be at the place of business to shut off the power. Again, this scam is very authentic-like. They use caller ID, several "operators" with background noise, music on hold, etc. DO NOT fall for it.

Have received calls to two different phones from number 757-857-2112. Automated message that it is courtesy call from Dominion Virginia Power. Message says my power will be disconnected for nonpayment in 30 minutes and directs me to call billing department at 800-631-8130.

I called my contact number for actual company and they reassured me it is a scam.

I have received several phone calls this morning from 757-857-2112 stating power will be cut off in next 30-45 minutes. I was instructed to phone 800-341-5850 to resolve. My business account is in good standing and neither telephone number reflects power company in my area.

Scammer called place of business threatening to turn off power in one hour because bill was unpaid. As the owner of the business I looked into the threat and called the number the scammer gave. He said in order to pay the $2,000 bill, I had to go to Food Lion and purchase four Moneypaks and then call back for further instruction.

They call your number and threaten to turn off your power unless you pay them through a cash Money bak card through Kroger. They pose as Dominion Virginia Power.

A customer service agent claiming to be from Dominion Energy called and indicated my power would be cut off due to lack of payment. This was false. However, I wasn’t near my computer to check the account. I was given a phone number to call to arrange cash payment to avoid disconnection of power. He asked for my account number and I declined to give it and he hung up. Only difference in the pre call recording was the lack of a Spanish speaking option for the call.

Our office received a call from "Dominion Energy" but I could not take the call at the time so a message was taken. I returned the call to the number provided. All of the initial phone prompts seemed official, except the extension to select was incorrect – evidently because no matter what extension you hit, they will all go to a scammer. I selected extension since that was billing. Both times, John answered. John tried to collect on a late payment but he didn’t realize that this was not our responsibility but the landlord’s. When I asked for the property address, he hung up. I called again, and ironically John answered again. Imagine that I was able to get the same representative in such a large call center both times I called! I asked him for another piece of information they needed to identify to try to determine their credibility and he gave an old address and hung up again. I called a third time and hit a different extension. This time I got Brian and told him I was disconnected twice and told him it was regarding billing, so he put me on hold. When John answered, he immediately said I needed to pay cash to keep electric from being turned off. When I told him who I was, he said, "oh I’m sorry, I picked up the wrong line" and hung up.

Representative called at 11:15 saying power would be cutoff if payment not received by 12, and provided phone # and name of representative to call with payment info. When we called back, they requested a prepaid money pack card from Walgreens or Kroger, and that the dominion acct # wasn’t needed. When we called the usual Dominion # our account was in a normal status. We hadn’t received delinquent or disconnect notice, this was a scam

Hi I just wanted to reach out and report a a company that tried to scam my parents today 3/15/18. My father got a call saying that their electricity was due to disconnect within 30 mins of the call. My father forwarded me the information given to him so I could call and handle the situation. I called the number my dad texted me( 571-299-2143) and gave me the reference number they had given my dad. Once on the phone with them, I first talked to a male, gave him the information related to the utility account and he left me on hold for 15mins. Since I only had only 15 mins left before the disconnection. We called again and went through the same process but when we talked about the method of payment, the phone disconnected. At this point my mom was suspecting it was a scam because she heard about it before so she asked me to looked up Dominion Energy and call them directly. Once on the phone with them, I told them about the call and they said that our balance was $0 and we were fine. At this point we knew for sure that this was a scam so I called back the number my dad gave me and tried to get as much information as I could. This time I talked to Spanish speaking person, Ana Maria, because my mom wanted to hear what they were saying. This lady told me that they haven’t received payments for the month of Jan. Feb. And March and that we owned $1,743,48, to be paid asap or my parents electricity would be cut. They wanted us to go to their office at 1133 Hisey Ave Woodstock VA 22664 to make the payment in cash and asked us where were we located. We told her our location and she said we were to far from their office and to avoid reinstatement fee, we could go to Food Lion or another store and buy a card with that amount, give them the card number and that would take care of the situation… We told her we would call her back to give her the number once we had it, of course she won’t be getting a call back. Please don’t fall for this scams!!

This is all the information I could gather ….
