Type of a scam Employment
I had applied on Indeed for an office administration position and a Lady names "Heather Terry" stated that she had loved my qualifications but had filled the position in her office. She asked me to forward my resume over to her good friend "David Colton" who has a bigger business and will be relocating to long beach. David Colton had me answer a few questions and then shortly after hired me on as a 1099 contractor position which already seemed a little sketchy but the pay sounded great. About a week later David Colton sent me an email stating that he was going to send a check of 2,000 + dollars to my house to deposit it and let him know when funds are available. Well of course I went into the bank to speak with someone about depositing it and they said it was not a real check. The bank let me know that if I would have deposited that check during the ATM it would have went through and eventually bounced meaning that David would have received the money and I would’ve been stuck paying the bank back.
