I applied for a Graphic Design job in Chicago. Later that night, I received the email stating the interview would be conducted via Google Hangouts (red flag). I noticed some red flags immediately after the first contact. They also requested email to "HR" and what not, all ending with ‘@gmail.com’ and then later ‘graphic-designer.com’ (red flag!!!). With a quick search on the graphic-designer.com email, you can find lots of fraud reports. Anywho I’m glad I realized quick before they were able to do anything. The scam is you get hired (they’re using a real company as their cover) to work from home and they’ll pay to set up your mini office. They send you a fradulant check and I’m assuming that once you deposit the steal your money and you could go to federal prison. I’m receiving said check in a bit, but will absolutely NOT be depositing it. Going to call the bank on check ro report and go to local police. If it’s too good to be true, it probably is. Trust your gut and stay safe!!
