My mother who lives in Florida, but maintains property in Minnesota received a purchase agreement regarding some property she owns. She has no intentions of selling the property, but received the purchase agreement as though she had been checking into selling it.
The purchase order has a valid legal description of the property.
The purchase agreement states an offer of $717.50 for land that is valued over $16,000.00.
The purchase agreement states that every effort will be made to close this transaction by June 15, 2016.
There is a simple signature line on the bottom for her to sign and return.
Fortunately, my 76 year old mother was not foolish enough to sign and return this purchase agreement.
However, I am saddened to think not all elderly will be as wise and accidently be selling property at a small fraction of it’s value.
