I received a call this morning from an unrecognized number saying they were DirecTV. They were calling to tell me they wanted to thank me for being a loyal customer. For being a loyal customer, they were going to provide me 12 months free of HBO and CineMax. They provided details about the offer, what channels HBO and Cinemax are with details about the programming itself. All of this was explained and then they told me I would be receiving it with no action on my part. They also told me to check my DirecTV account online for confirmation of the change. At the end of the call, they asked me to confirm that it was all clear and I said yes. They then thanked me again for being a loyal customer and hung up. They did NOT ask for any other information. I believe this was an elaborate scam for them to get me to say, "Yes." Similar to the "can you hear me now scams" that have been reported on.
