Was called on my cell phone by a person saying he was representing Direct TV. He stated that Direct TV was losing a lot of customers because of their high rates so the were offering better rates for the next 24 months. He said we could bundle all our services for $170.00 per month. We would be required to pay three months in advance which would cost $510.00. Since this promotion was being sponsored by Ebay we would have to pay with an Ebay gift card. The representative said to buy the gift card and then call AT&T at 888-381-0068 and use Promotion code DTV031254 and then give the representative the code on the gift card. I figured it was a scam. So I called AT&T’s customer service number on my monthly statement. The representative said he was not aware on any such offer. He gave me the phone number of a local AT&T store. I called the AT&T store and the representative was not aware of any promotion. He did say he would pass the information about the scam on to the store manager.
