Type of a scam Utility
Multiple knocks on our door. I was told that we had not responded to some mail we should have received from our utility company (or companies). It would have arrived in an envelope that stated NOT A BILL. Said we were supposed to sign something and return it, and because we hadn’t he was going through the neighborhood to do this in person. If we didn’t have that document, he would just need to see our utility bill and point out the charges to us. Seemed fishy, so I said I would have to discuss with my wife later. He said he would return in an hour or so. I used the time to research and saw that there are similar scams going on elsewhere. We will see if he comes back.
Claimed to be with Direct Energy and wore shirt (and mask) with that name.
