Type of a scam Counterfeit Product
This person posted an ad on craigslist for Austin City Limits festival passes. He said he was in Houston and was going to the festival on Saturday, but had 4 3-day passes from his connections at Front Gate that he wanted to sell at face value. He said the passes could be transferred through Front Gate Tickets. We had a long phone conversation which made him seem believable. Claimed to be 29 years old, had previously attended the University of Cincinnati, was a Cincinnati Bengals fan. Sounded laid back and possibly a little stoned. The plan was to transfer the money using Zelle, then transfer ownership of the passes through Front Gate. The Zelle transfer happened, but the email with the ticket transfer never happened. He didn’t answer the phone, but responded to the first couple texts, then disappeared.
