A day after I receive and email from my mortgage company to finalize closing on the purchase of my house. I get a similar email off by one letter telling my I’m clear to close and to wire the money. The man calls me from a 347 area code with a African accent. He congratulated me on the purchase of my home and advices to wire the money ASAP to close the following Monday. Thankfully I called my mortgage company to verify minutes before I almost wired 30,000. The adviced me to not send the money I had been scammed. The scammer was able to emmulte the exact signature of the mortgage banker and exact email address, while cc omg like 3 other people in the office who’s email was off by one letter the letter “S”. I hope no one else is a victim of this scam it’s so easy especially with being excited to buy a new home l.
