Type of a scam Online Purchase

I ordered a free trial of Derma Fixa Serum and Instant Lift, as well as their Miracle Eye cream, on January 22, 2017. I ordered it quickly online through my phone after seeing an article online – not something I usually do. The products arrived within a week, and I was quite pleased with them.

Two weeks later, I was checking my bank account, and noticed a charge on 2/6 for $98.41 and another on 2/7 for $97.41 from companies I didn’t recognize. I contacted my bank, and they asked me if I had responded to a free trial and said the charges were from that company. They initiated a fraud claim and blocked the company.

I still had my receipt and contacted the company. There was no address or website listed on the receipt, only a phone number and email address for a call center. The woman I spoke to told me there was fine text regarding a subscription on the website. I was looking at the website and told her there was no such text, even as I clicked through.

She offered me a reduced subscription rate twice when I asked her to cancel the account, and finally reluctantly cancelled it.

I asked for a refund of the two charges and was told that wasn’t possible. I then asked for a way to contact the company directly and the woman hung up on me.

Looking at their website, there is no way to subscribe outright or buy additional products after the free sample, which is odd. I like the product and would have continued using it, but not if the company will not operate honestly.
