Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
Was selling a cello on multiple sites, got a contact from Craigslist about purchasing it for $800 via check. I’ve gotten legitimate checks many times but certain parts were suspicious. I ask that he sends the check with exact amounts or changes to PayPal. I receive the check in the mail and it uses several companies in different states. The guy was "on assignment" in Arkansas from LA, and the company and bank was from Florida. He used the name Anthony Thomas on the text and Ben Thomas on the package, illegible on the check. DO YOUR RESEARCH. I WAS GOING TO FALL FOR THIS BEFORE I DID THE RESEARCH ON THESE SCAMS. DON’T BE A FOOL AND LET THEM WASTE MONEY ON OVERNIGHT SHIPPING.
