The company contacted me offering a position as a Supply chain manager in a new office in Maryland. The offer was for a one month training as a part time position that would pay $3000. At the end of the training a full time position would be offered at a with a large salary and benefits. The first two training modules were rudimentary then came the hook. For the third part of the process a project would be conducted in which you locate and order equipment for the company using your own credit card. The company would provide you with access to their banking information and you used that to pay down the credit card then use the card to purchase a list of equipment for the company. When I contacted the company to ask questions the Senior project manager could not answer even the most simple questions and requested that any further questions be sent to him in an e-mail.

Type of a scam Employment

Company contacted the job seeking victim through a linked-In profile. They interviewed the victim and sent a letter saying they passed the interview and he would be offered full employment following several weeks of training. A suspicious contract was sent written in courier font and very formal but awkward English. The contract promised $3,000 for the four weeks of training, work not to exceed 8 hours per week. This was followed up by a training module and test that had to be done within 48 hours of receipt. The phone number given by the contact had a voicemail in an eastern European accent. In searching the meta data on the web address, it was created and hosted in Kiev, Ukraine on 12/12/2018.

Fortunately, the victim did not give any info other than name and email address.
