Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
I was selling a dining table on Craigslist for $300, and "Alonzo" contacted me and said he was working out of town but would mail me a check with an additional $50 to hold the table. He said he would also add in a movers fee and his moving company would come pick up the product. Received a check for nearly $2,000. That was the final red flag for me. I googled his phone number and it came up with SEVERAL stories with the exact same situation and it turns out he mails counterfeit checks and then scams you out of your money and the product you sold. BEWARE! The check was mailed from Indianapolis, IN. He became hostile when I stopped replying to his texts.
