Type of a scam Online Purchase
We were looking to get a french bulldog puppy approx 10 weeks old named puppy. Submitted a request for more information and got an email back same day (Friday) was supposed to get the puppy the next Monday (3 days later). Seller was in a rush to get rid of the puppies.
Required upfront payment for shipping purposes. Seller said were going to get paperwork, vaccination information and booking VIP flight for puppy. All information would be passed along via email and physically at airport when picking up the puppy.
Acted very interested in the health of the puppies (no tap water, no beans, please arrive at airport with a warm towel). Avoided providing information provided. Also there was a "deal" where you can get 2 puppies for $1000 instead of 1 puppy for $600. If you purchased 2 puppies, you would only pay shipping for one.
Seller stopped responding to phone and text on Sunday.
Red flags: Wouldn’t answer questions about parents, wouldn’t answer shipping information. Would not send photos of the litter together or the parent dogs. Did not provide vet contact information when requested on multiple occasions.
After further investigation found that the photos sent were from other instagram (@amazingfrenchies14) and pinterest accounts (See in Dog We Trust Photo – https://www.pinterest.com/pin/795870565372351293/). We contacted the owners of those accounts – they have no affiliation with [email protected] Seller stated that he maxed out his paypal and need us to pay vial cashapp to $larrywilson27. Instead we were to pay via venmo: nevin willson @nevin-wilson-2.
After we discovered seller was using photos from other websites, we called and left a message that we would not be getting a puppy from him and that we had frozen the payment. Seller then sent a string of photos of adult frenchies. Assumption this is the photos of the parents but no confirmation was made. Seller refused to take any phone calls following that.
