We purchased a dog through a Craigslist advertisement and was told to pay $550 through Western Union. We would receive free shipping due to a coupon. A few days later we received an email from Instant Pet Carriers Company with a shipping confirmation. Shortly after the email came through we received another email stating due to cold weather a special carrier was needed and $950 was needed. About two days later another email was received and $2,783 was needed for a city permit document and a refund would come with the puppy. We sent $825 by Western Union to Mcnedam Loyand in Baltimore. Another email came through and $1,880 was needed for insurance. We couldn’t pay that much so we told the breeder and he said he would send $,1080if we sent $800. The breeders card was rejected and the insurance only received $500. We were told the puppy had arrived, but could only be delivered to our house. We were told we needed to pay for the puppy’s shots, which came to a total of $225, but it would be refunded with the puppy. Another city document was required and it was $600, but would be refunded to us. The $825 had to paid within 3 hours to receive the puppy. An email came through telling us the puppy was in quarantine and it would $2,250 to get her out. A text message was received telling us the puppy was in quarantine in Brownsville, TX and were given until 5:20 p.m. to send the money or she would remain there. Soon threatening messages came in telling us we’d be charged with animal cruelty.
