Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
I received an email message congratulating me for being chosen by Amazon.com to be a secret surveyor and that they would pay me $300 per assignment. I initially thought this might be an opportunity to make a few bucks so I sent them my address. But then I began thinking why would Amazon do this? I contacted Amazon.com and found that they had no such program and thought it was a phishing scam to obtain personal information. I notified them and my internet mail provider and they concurred. I just received USPS Priority mail envelope from Shoppers Express which contained a brief letter and a check for $2300 for a secret survey. The letter had obvious grammatical errors and had no signature. The check was from EFCU Financial Federal Credit Union with an illegible name of some "authorized signature." I did not cash the check or do any of the instructions as this definitely appears to be linked to the initial Amazon.com scam.
