Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

I answered an email and was then contacted first by text to let me know I had received an email with instructions for the mystery shopper assignment. I then received Priority Mail envelope through USPS with a letter and a check for $2650.32 from Sterling Bank (www.sterbank.com) 1100 Sterling Drive Poplar Bluff, MO 63901 signed by Arturo. The letter stated that I was to deposit the check, keep $200 for my assignment and $50 to be spent at Walmart on merchandise. I was to send $1200.16 each to David Moore in Austin TX 20784 and James Harwell in Alamo, TX 75040 via Walmart Money Gram and to use part of the money to each to cover the Money Gram fees. The letter was signed by HR Manager, Scott Hiller and the letterhead was from Customer Impact. The name on the envelope was John Woodrow with Dawn Software Co. I received text messages letting me know to expect a USPS envelope and to go to my email for specific instructions for completing the assignment. The number on the text was 862-256-3072
