Type of a scam Moving

Setup a move with cross country movers, verified the inventory with both cross country movers and the trucking company they hired in the days leading up too the pickup. Morning of the pickup driver shows from the trucking company and immediately asks for more money without measuring or counting the manifest. Then the driver said he wanted to load everything on the truck then give me a price… of course I’m not doing that, I’m sure some people do. Anyways we finally got the driver too say he would do it for $12k. Now keep in mind that is very large jump from what I was previously quoted at 5k. I was able to get the customer service manager Annie from cross country moving group along with the trucking company driver Miguel on the phone at the same time and Annie asked the driver have you counted the inventory and Miguel the driver responded with a NO… This a game cross country plays they under quote you and collect your deposit, when trucking company shows and demands more money and you say no they just keep your deposit, because you can’t cancel on the day of and it’s in the contract. I’m not sure how much a contract holds with people who operate business this unethically. It’s all a lie… either fall for the bait in switch right then and there on move day or just give them your deposit which incurs no business cost for them. Straight up theft happening here. Got be wire fraud operating this way over state lines.
