I received a phone call from a Nathan Winters from Consumer Arbitration Services yesterday claiming that they were going to take legal action against me on a payday loan from Cashnet that I supposedly took out in 2015. They claimed they were prosecuting me on three charges: bank fraud, writing bad checks, and default on a loan. This man said that the alleged amount I owe was $822.56 but that they would settle for $490.00 if I paid that same day. Initially, this scared me as the phone number that popped up on my cellphone was from a local police department here in my state.
