Type of a scam Tech Support
I was setting up a new HP computer and when I entered the Microsoft Home Office numbers from the card I purchased at Best Buy, these scammers put up a message on my screen that they were Microsoft employed by Best Buy and gave me the phone number to call to get help with setting up the Home Office. They took over my new computer and then promised to fix all the problems for $299. Once I realized they were not Microsoft and not Best Buy, they froze the computer. This has been such a stressful situation but Best Buy and the Geek Squad have been WONDERFUL to me. CompLoft preys on older people and somehow flash up the initial message so quickly that my cursor landed on their message before I knew it and the rest is a disaster!
