Received a call from Haley at CollegeLevelExam.org, she wanted to send my son DVD’s to help improve SAT test scores. Was told it was free for 30 days — the cost thereafter is $99. The company will send you a reminder after the 30 days to return the DVD’s or if you want to keep them thy will go ahead and charge you at that time. If you want to send the DVD’s back "just put 2 stamps on the envelope."
I received the dvd’s and the charge of $216.32 at the same time.
I called the company – might also go by the name "College Advancement" (name on charge) the gentleman offered to refund my card and has not to date.
I returned the unopened DVD’s by USPS and paid for Proof of Delivery – the delivery was made on Dec 6th. The gentleman was going to credit my account immediately and that was over 2 weeks ago. This company received their DVD’s back, unopened, 10 days ago and still no credit to my account.
Glad I sent the DVD’s back with proof of delivery — if I followed Haley’s advice and "just put 2 stamps on an envelope" I’m sure I would have a harder time getting my money back.
I have filed a Dispute with my credit card company.
Beware – this has to be a scam.
