Type of a scam Rental
This person wrote me from the email address after I inquired about an apartment rental in Cambridge, MA that seemed too good to be true considering local rent rates. The email I received in response was written oddly and poorly (as if the person writing was not a native speaker). For example, they featured oddly structured sentences with strange phrasing and random capital letters: "I know there is no way I can be sure that you are the right person to live in the Apartment because we won’t be able to see physical before sending you the keys and the documents to occupy the space. But I just had a feeling that anyone who knows what it takes to put the kind of structure down should know that maintaining a building is mandatory, so if you belief you can take good care of the Apartment and handle it like yours…"
The story also went on that they couldn’t show the apartment in person and you could look through the windows, and the keys would be shipped in the mail once the rental application was received. The apartment was not available for viewing. The person mentioned interning with a few doctors that exist on Google but the person himself does not seem to exist as a "Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon". Most normal apartment listings / landlords don’t give out so much information about themselves, and are much more interested in learning about the potential renters and are extremely focused on having the person meet them first. This poster also claimed to not want to use a third party (realtor) and is out of state in "ALABAMA".
