Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
I received a $7K check in the mail from Lincoln Financial initially stating I had won $88K and needed to deposit the $7K check in my checking or savings account and then I would receive the rest of the funds. I called the phone number and spoke to a guy named Jeff that then changed the amount I won to $545K. When I proceeded to ask more questions, Jeff replied "ok, bye" and hung up the phone. I did not deposit the checks and figured it was a scam to begin with.
