Type of a scam Employment
I was reached out by Cinram Logistics for a position as a Supply Chain Manager through e-mail of possible interest. A phone interview was set up and completed a week later. One day after phone interview I was offered a pre-employment position. Was told upon successful completion of pre-employment work I full time offer would be made. During this pre-employment period of one month I would work as a contractor and be paid substantially for about 8 hours of work per week for a month. This already seemed a little different and I addressed this with them. They assured me that this was a way for both sides to get to know each other before a contract was signed. I went along with it. My first few assignments were basically book reports, to make me feel like this was really. The assignments were very easy and I found the same exact material on-line. It appears they copied and pasted. The job then moved to a project where they wanted me to purchase computer equipment then be reimbursed. I told them I wasn’t comfortable with that. They said fine and gave me another simulated project to test my skills. I went along with that. This to was very easy and only took about an hour to complete. Upon turning in the assignment Cinram told me that I had done very well and would be reached soon for final offer of full time employment. After one week of no communication I followed up via e-mail. After second week I left message at both phone number provided. Entering third week and no communication has transpired. It is my hunch that since I did not do the original project the strung me along to keep my from being suspicious just to drop me a few weeks later. I also took a closer look at their website seeing some of the stories actually line up with other logistics companies (more copy paste). I believe, through the proposed original project, they were hoping to gain personal account information and drain my account rather reimburse me.
