Total money lost $1,815
Type of a scam Online Purchase
I ran an online Auction via Bidding for Good on behalf of A Light for Zimbabwe (ALFZ). As one item of the auction, I listed a men’s nephrite oval cabachon jade ring of 14Kyg as an item to bid upon or buy now. This ring was purchased 0n 1/6/17 with the Buy Now Option for $1875. I charged $15 in shipping so the total of $1890 was processed using Stripe. The payment was completed without issue so I mailed the ring with a signatory requirement. The buyer was the above listed person. However, the address appears to belong to a Bedabox which is a company that accepts goods at a US address on behalf of international buyers and then mails the item to the international buyer.
The monies were transferred to the ALFZ bank account on 1/13 /17 net of the Stripe fee or $1815. Then on 1/27/17 the monies plus a $15 fee were removed from the ALFZ bank account. When I emailed Stripe (there is no phone number to call), they told me the buyer was claiming dispute or fraud.
