The contractor and his wife came recommended. The person recommending them did admit they had unorthodox working habits. The victim did inspect the contractors’ work, and it was acceptable. The contractor asked for money up front for materials but spent the money. The contractor tried to get money for gas, utility bills, etc. and when victim refused, the contractor came less and less frequently to work. Finally, the victim asked that they not return and said a complaint would be filed if the materials money was not returned. The contractor showed no remorse and made no arrangements to return the money.
