Type of a scam Advance Fee Loan

Received a phone call stating I was approved for a loan and start process. They request my information as well as my account number and online banking information. They first wired money and then I had to return it through apple iTunes cards. After the second one I grew suspicious checked my account and it was a negative number. Went to bank found out a check was made out to to center person I don’t know with my forged signature. Told the bank I just got scammed and the bank is holding me reliable for 900 dollars. Where I can no lie never open up another bank. I do have police reports bank pictures of what happened.

Received a voice mail message (Automated) about returning a call which claimed I had been approved for a cash loan out to 15K. Called back and talked to a "Peter Johnson" (sounded like he was from India) who asked me some basic questions concerning why I needed the loan, the usual information you give to a bank, etc. After going through all the account information Peter described that they would be depositing money into my account and that I would have to return it either by purchasing Itunes/Apple cards or a moneygram. At that point I became suspicious and checked out the ScamPulse.com web site to see if this was a scam. I probably should have done so before hand but as usual when you’re desperate you don’t really think clearly.

Checking through your scams the name "Cash Advance" did pop up with similar characteristics to this "event" so I feel I have to report it. Now I wonder what measures I can take to protect myself?

Type of a scam Advance Fee Loan

I was contacted by phone saying that I was eligible to receive a loan in the amount of $5000 from cash america loans. They deposited $998 in my bank account and I was told to get an itunes card in the amount of $500, then another in the amount of $498. They stayed on the phone with me the entire time until I gave them the verification codes. I did not receive the loan, so I called back and was told that it would come in 15 minutes. I waited 30 minutes and called again and asked for a supervisor. I told them I was calling the ScamPulse.com and they said everything was fine as they were associated with the BBB. I then talked to someone that said they were the supervisor and he said I needed to pay $300 in fees before getting the loan. I told them I didn’t have the $300 and they said they were going to cancel the loan. I called my bank and changed my account number.
