I received a call from a local number. The person acted like they couldn’t hear me. They said "can you hear me", I said "yes" and then they hung up.

I researched and found this is likely a scam to get me to say the word "yes" in order to use my voice to possibly make some kind of purchase over of the phone.

The caller told me her name and said she was from the rewards department of some company. Then she asked me "can you hear me?" Without thinking, I said yes, and she hung up on me. I tried to call the number back but the call would not go through.

Received call asking me if I could hear them clearly.

Unfortunately, I said yes and they hung up.

Tried to call the number back and it said something about hearing aids and again tried to make me say yes. I hung up.

I received a call on 7/15/19 at 5:14pm EST from a girl telling me she was calling regarding a vacation and asked if I could hear her, when I replied yes she hung up immediately. It was a robo-call I believe and I’m worried my “yes” will be used for some purpose. Please investigate this scam thank you!

I was contacted on my work landline. I work at a community college so we get calls from many places. When Shamong, NJ came up on my phone I assumed that it was a student and answered as i usually do "thank you for calling the Controller’s Office, This is _____". When they responded with my full name I answered "yes" and the caller hung up on me. When i tried to call the number back it rang and then went straight to the disconnect beeps. I did report this to the FTC. They may be able to use my recorded voice to authorize charges or billings.

Caller asked ‘can you hear me?’ To which I foolishly said ‘yeah’. Now I am concerned that that response will open me up to scams.
