Type of a scam Debt Collections
I received a phone call this morning from "California Edison" and spoke to Robert, he stated that our bill was past due and that they required immediate payment from our office. I informed them that i would have our manager call them back and they stated that we needed to call them back as soon as possible because they had already sent a driver to cut off our electricity and that it would happen within the next 30-45 mins.
I spoke to the manager and our dentist and they informed me that our account was just paid and so i got a hold of Edison directly and spoke to Erika, she then informed me that this was a fraudulent call, they would never call their clients directly, they usually send letters if accounts are over due. She took the information from the call as well and stated that she would let their investigation team know about the call.
