They contacted me today saying that I owed a debt fron 2011 for $750 and now I would have to pay them over $1000. As I told him I shut the account down back then. The man on the phone was very confrontational I just hung up on him. First I spoke with some lady trying to get my personal information out of me , but I didn’t give it to her. She then gave me to some man that didn’t introduce himself just went right in telling me that I owed but didn’t tell me how much until I asked him. I guess if I do owe anything they will send me something.

Type of a scam Debt Collections

Chadworth and Macons Associates Group contact me in June of 2018. Apparently, I opened a Credit Card in 2003, maxed the card out, paid on the card until 2010. According to this group, the card was on my credit report, then taken off due to statute of limitations. Apparently, the debt was around $5,000.00. They stated that if I didn’t pay them $1,000.00 within a month, they would sue me and the judgement would appear on my credit report again. I vaguely remember having this card. I explained to the person over the phone that my job keeps me afloat and I serve as my fathers Power of Attorney. I coudn’t garauntee that much money in such little time and didn’t want to lie. Plus, I wasn’t sure why I still owed this debt. Again, I vaguely recall even having this card. I didn’t understand why I was still being contacted about a debt so old. So much has transpired in my life since that time. At the end of the conversation, The person stated that he would process the court papers.
