I submitted a job application via Indeed.com and received a response via email. The name of the sender (Alia Jones) and the name of the signature (Keith Hamilton) did not match, which was a key indicator. I received the email from [email protected], telling me I had been accepted to interview via Google Hangouts or Skype for an interview. The interviewer listed two email addresses: [email protected] and [email protected]
The name of the company was not present in this request. Upon opening Hangouts to begin the "interview," I repeatedly asked the user to verify their credentials and tell me more about their affiliation with the company. They refused, and instead sent a list of very vague job departments from which I was asked to choose. After I told them I would not respond until their credentials were verified, they terminated the conversation.
