Type of a scam Identity Theft
I was looking to purchase a kids item that is not widely available (its sold at more boutique stores than big box retailers). I did a google search and "buyforbabies.net" was one of the websites shown to carry the product. Pricing was comparable with other sites. I did not initially look at other information on the site other than the product description. I went through the entire checkout process including providing name, address, email, phone, credit card information and when I went to submit confirm order it took me to another pngage that said "your shopping cart is empty". I initially thought it was a computer error so I went to the contact us on the pngage and tried to send them an email (there was no phone number listed). When I tried to submit the email it came back with an error message. I started to look at the site in more detail and it is clearly a fraudulent site. The about us page includes several inaccuracies including references to the company under different names and that they specialize in office supplies. The contact us page also listed a physical address in Seattle WA but when you google that name nothing comes up. I searched the BBB and the company is listed with an IL address and also a phone number. I called the phone number and it belongs to a medical billing company. Do not purchase from the website – buyforbabies.net – it is a fraudulent site designed to steal your credit card information.
