My wife and I were looking for a papillon puppy. We stumbled across the website Butterflypapillons.com and saw that they had 3 puppies for sale. The website appeared professional and the price was right so we contacted the owner for more information. We instantly got a bad feeling when it took over 24 hours to respond to my initial inquiry. The person with whom I was communicating also never gave a name. I repeatedly asked for another way to contact the seller which he ignored. I also asked for more pictures of the puppies which the seller ignored. Finally after I pressed the seller he gave me a phone number and address. The phone number is 334-209-4929 which is not registered through a standard service provider which either means it is an internet phone number or a trac phone or similar without regular billing. Upon that search though, I found that this person has done the same thing with Great Danes through the website “Shiredanes.com” (which has since been taken down and replaced with butterflypapillons.com) which further confirmed the scam. The seller does not actually have puppies and he robs people of money. The puppies are supposedly 12 weeks old in August of 2020 but the pictures on his website have a christmas tree in the background. The seller also spells papillon wrong on the website. This is clearly a scam and this seller should be avoided and reported. I have done a great deal of research into the domain hosting company which is “namecheap.com” and I have filed an official report with the internet crimes division IC3. I have also traced the IP address of the email and have his actual location and name. Appropriate authorities have been contacted and they are collecting evidence at this time.
