Type of a scam Employment
I have come across a Job Fraud and the below and attached are the email that I received from an advertisement that I responded to on Linkedin.
All interviewees for the vacancies at Bristol Marine Construction & Engineering Company are required to contact James Ohio at a travel agency called Angora Travel to buy a ticket to the UK, which BMCEC then says will be refunded at the time of interview.
This website contact numbers of Angora Travel are also listed to another travel company called Latona Travel with a contact name of Daniel Grace.
The telephone numbers +44 844 884 1735 and +44 793 742 5749 are common to both of these travel agency sites and my research via http://www.englandphonelookup.co.uk shows that they are numbers not based in the UK.
The websites of all three are very professional looking but are all very new having been opening within the last three weeks.
I assume that the scam involves providing your credit card details to the "travel agency" including the CVC/CVV number.
This "company" is advertising jobs in Russia and the Middle East and the name being used for the HR Manager is Maria Fowler.
It should be noted that the company Bristol Marine Construction & Engineering Company is not registered at Companies House and neither are Angora Travel or Latona Travel.
A check of the images of the "Managers" and "Directors" of BMCEC also show that they do NOT work for this company and in many cases have different names.
In addition this website is identical to that used for Walton Marine Construction & Engineering Company (WMCEC) and Durham Construction & Engineering Company, which are also listing jobs in the Middle East.
In their websites they all also state that they "took over" a company called Bradford Civil & Marine Ltd which is also not listed in Companies House
I also checked the details of the websites of the BMCEC and Angora Travel on http://www.scamadviser.com and discovered that both of them are @ two – three weeks old.
I wrote an email requesting details of the project and received an answer from "Maria Fowler" which I can forward to you if you wish as well as all attachments from the original Interview Offer.
