Type of a scam Employment
I was sent an email that seemed legit & containted a document with jobs that I qualified for. It asked me to answer a list of questions, then it asked for me to sign an employment contract along with sending a voided check, proof of ID & SSN while reminding that I could black out document #s on the proof of ID. I sent over a photo of my passport & my SSN.
So it SEEMED legit at this point, however I had yet to receive a phone call. I asked if this was a scam & they said no. Then I was contacted & told to download Telegram Messenger in order to receive instructions for a preliminary task prior to the 1-2 hour interview. Failure to do so would result in penalties.
The task was to buy bitcoin & send it as startup funds.
At this point, I realized it was fake & backed out. I was contacted again to discuss the issue over Telegram but I refused to answer at this point.
