Total money lost $560
Type of a scam Online Purchase
The scammer has an attractive website with boston terrier puppies for sale. We contacted them and were then told we had been "approved" to receive the puppy of our choice. We were emailed a contract, which we signed, and then told to Zelle them $560 which we did. The initial contact said the puppy would be shipped, at no further cost, and we would be sent the tracking information. The next day we received an URGENT message from worldwide pet express (another scam) saying we needed to Zelle another $595 dollar for a special shipping crate. This email said the puppy was there and ready to ship. Suspicious at this point we called the airport on the tracking info, and we learned there were no puppies, no shipping and it was a small airport that had received a lot of called like ours! We received another call from the WWPet express pushing me to send money immediately. Of course, we have heard nothing more from either. We have filed a police report here in Jacksonville Beach where we live.
