There was an email sent to me about a part time job that was remote, easy, and paid well. After I signed up, I was emailed and then shortly texted. "Reverend Keith Smith" said he would be sending me a check priority mail and then I would need to cash the check. Once I had the cash, I was to deduct $400 for my job pay and then send the rest of the cash via Western Union to Jose Torres in Palm Coast, FL with the zip code 32164. He was supposed to be the owner of an orphanage and then money was for the kids
Someone has tried to scam me off craigslist before. They send you a faulty, real looking check and you cash it. Before the bank can verify the funds, the scammer tries to get you to send the money to someone else quickly. Then the check bounces and the bank takes money out of your account instead.
