I received an email with the subject "Notification Case. 234656" claiming to be the Better Business Bureau. It had the BBB logo and name with a registered trademark symbol at the end. The email said: "Dear Business Owner: We are formally notifying you of a claim submitted against your company with the Better Business Bureau in the nature of a falsified insurance claim. Your company has a rebuttal period of 7 business days from the receipt of this notice, to respond to the claim. The response must contain a final rebuttal and be no more than 5 pages in totality.

The full compliant filed as well as the response form and instructions for submitting your response have been attached to this email. Due to the privacy of the claim the file is password protected. The password is the complaint reference number found on the subject of the email. You can download the file at the link below. Complaint_Notification: Click to Download Your reply must be sent to us as instructed within the reply form. If we have not received notification from you within the allotted time the claim will awarded to the party filing the claim and they may take further action if they choose to do so, depending on the severity of the claim. Waiting for your reply, Better Business Bureau" I called my local BBB and was told it doesn’t have this complaint against my company in its records. I forwarded the email to the BBB so that they could see what it says.

Received an email regarding a BBB complaint against my business in my Junk mail. Obviously this is a scam using the BBB as a way to get people to click a link to gain more information about the people they are trying to scam. BBB beware. They are using you.

This supposed corp told me they were through the BBB that they also were working on paying my student loan off or partially they said they had to get within my student loan to do such, so they sent me through my e-mail a way to set up a new password through my federal loan and he wanted the six digit number. When I asked him why he hung up. I did not give him that information though. I knew that it was wrong when he asked for the new passcode. They are looking to getting my personal information.
