Bank of Montreal (BMO) – Kyla Munro

Type of a scam Phishing

I received an email claiming to be the Bank of Montreal (BMO). It said that my interac e-transfer of $575 was accepted by Kyla Munro. I don’t know any Kyla Munro and I’ve never banked at the BMO. The email instructed me to click on a link: http://www.bmo.com/refund/interac/services if I didn’t send the e-transfer.

I got an email pretending to be from the BMO. (I don’t do any banking at BMO.) The email said that my interac e-transfer sent to Kyla Munro (who I do not know) was accepted, and if I did not send the transfer, I was to click on a link: http://www.bmo.com/refund/interac/services (which no longer exists).
