We hired Bubba Hellner on Dec. 19, 2017 with B&R House Moving to move our future house by January 31,2018. Once we signed the contract and paid him 5,250 he all but vanished. We called, text, sent certified letter and even reported him to the Sheriffs Department. When he would finally answer a call he would say he was on his way and no show. The deadline of January 31st was crucial because the house sat on land that had been bought by a developer. January 31st came and went and he did not move our house. We demanded our money back and all we got were lies and cussed out. We also found out that he has a history of theft along with no insurance through The Texas Department of Motor Vehicles.
Never sign any document that he gives you, do NOT pay any money up front. The excuses he gave us were somebody died, truck broke, flat tire, lost cellphone, somebody in hospital, family problems, none of his workers showed up and then he even told us he didn’t have any excuse. We have also learned that the person that came with him to collect our deposit was another house mover that was convicted of taking money from families and not moving the house.
For future business dealings check references, background, insurance and never sign and pay money upfront. Document document document EVERYTHING. This man Davy aka Bubba Hellner has left us in financial ruin. He thinks he is untouchable by law.
Run far away from this business and this man. The law has even told him to return our stolen money and he refuses.
