We called a referral service to find someone who would do appliance repair so we could get our dishwasher fixed. The person we were referred to was called Malcolm Jones of Awesome Appliance Repair. He called himself "Malcolm the Magician". He came out and diagnosed our dishwasher, said he had parts in stock, and asked for half the payment up front. He asked that the payment be made out to Malcolm Jones. That should have been our first warning. He was supposed to come out Monday (May 20, 2019) in order to complete the repairs. When he didn’t show up and wasn’t answering or returning any phone calls, my daughter did a bit of internet searching. Turns out that is Malcolm Jones’s M.O.: Come out and diagnose the problem, take a check for half, and never return to complete the agreed upon work. Many other people have complained about this guy scamming them out of money. We lost $112.50 to this guy via check.
