Type of a scam Employment
I was contacted via text by "Steve Baker" a representative of "Avaya Corp"telling me they got my resume from Caljobs, I registered with Caljobs so I thought it was legit. They vetted me for 2 days and tested me for 1. It was very detailed and sophisticated. They offered me a job with fantastic pay and great benefits. I started getting a gut feeling that something was wrong. The only communication I had with them was email and Google Hangouts. I contacted the real Avaya Corporation on 7/31/17. The HR department verified that it was a scam. The next step with them was for me to send a copy of my drivers license and banking info. I did not do this thank God. I believe this was an attempt to steal my identity. I have contacted FTC, all 3 credit reporting agencies to do alerts and my bank. I was very sad, but it could have been so much worse. My hope is that you will be able to forewarn anyone else about this scam. The names they used were: Eric Philonenko-the supervisor and Lauren Randall-interview manager and Steve Baker, first contact via text message. No phone numbers were ever used. Thank you so much.
