I recently posted my car for sale on Craigslist. Within a day of posting the car to Craigslist, I received a text from "Ryan" saying he was very interested in the car because he needs one desperately and mine is the best option. He said he would take off work to meet me tomorrow, but before he "makes arrangements" he needs to see the "AR" car history report, and provided the exact website autoregistryreport.com in the text. He said I just need to click on the link, input my name, email and VIN number, and I would receive an email with the report. When I found out the report was $24.99, I said I already have a Carfax report I could send him, but he said it needed to be autoregistryreport.com. I said I would only pay if he were really serious about the car, and he said he’s very serious but only if he see’s the history before. I decided to create an account and pay the $24.99, and it took me to Paypal and the funds were sent to "Art Worms". I then received a very short, sketchy looking email which asked me to click on a link to see the report (rather than having a pdf attached). At that point I really felt like it was a scam and thankfully I didn’t click the link. I then "googled" "Auto Registry Report" and nothing came up. It was only when I typed the full autoregistryreport.com that the site appeared. I have not heard from "Ryan" since
