Someone with a foreign sounding voice calls on the legitimate ATT 800 number (1-800-288-2020). I know because I have it on my phone for my use. They say they are from connect tech. I always hang up and have not actually answered the call recently.
They called 9/20 at 3:16 pm; 9/21 at 12:14 pm; 9/24 at 10:34 and 4:28; 9/25 at 2:22 and 10/4 at 3:18 pm.
I pay for ATT Connect Tech, but have not used them since June. They have told me they never initiate the call, I must do that myself.
This is not the tech number I use, it is the General ATT number.

They have called twice (Jan. 23, 2017 & March 9, 2017) after I have used ATT Tech Support to help with an internet problem.
ATT tells me, they NEVER call me unless I have initiated the call first.
The second call on March 9, 2017, the caller (a foreign sounding female) addressed me by my name.
I just tell them that they are not ATT and hang up, so I don’t know what they want.
