Type of a scam Online Purchase
A fraudulent charge was pending on my debit account and I contacted my bank for a dispute claim. They gave me the phone number and reference number attached to the pending purchase and canceled my card. I called the number associated with the fraudulent charge and a Chinese man answered. I explained my concern and asked for information on the purchase, he then asked me for my zip code, the card number, my complete address, and the name on the card. I informed him of the reference number and offered that. He said "No, I need all the other information first." When I refused, he said he was ending the call and he hung up on me.
They make bogus charges and wait for you to call and give them your personal information.
