Type of a scam Debt Collections
Yesterday, (3/28/18) my husband answered the phone and it was a collections agency stating they were looking for me. When he told them he was my husband the lady put him on hold because she "had to ask the attorney" if she could speak with him. They claim they are working for a bank out of Missouri to collect on a debt. I have never had a credit card from a bank in Missouri. They used my married name with my former address and they called a house number that has not been in use long and has never been given out to anyone. I always give my cell phone out. When I tell them I have no idea who that bank is they do not respond to that. All I get is an email on their letterhead claiming who the bank is and what the total and account number are. Also, the email address they used is not the one I gave them to use. So, that’s another question all on its on.
I looked on my credit report and there is nothing on there from that bank with the account number they gave, nor for anything in that range of money. I also live in *** *** and saw they do not have the licensing they need to try to obtain a debt. That’s another red flag. They would know where they can and cannot collect.
I want this stopped completely. I never want to hear from them again and I want them stopped altogether. Someone will not know to do the research and will pay them what they are asking for.
