Type of a scam Romance
This is a romance scam. My wife has been talking to this scam artist for almost two years. He calls his "character" Arif Ali Khan. He uses a number of social media outlets including twitter Arifartist007 but contacts my wife primarily through Instagram:

He’s requested money for "medical emergencies" and so on. There really is too much to report in this situation, but it should be fairly obvious that he’s a scammer. Instagram and Facebook have done nothing to help this situation.
