Type of a scam Employment
Received a text message this morning (9/3/2019) from a John Cortez (Enclosed are the text messges that I received.). He claimed that he sent email about the position (I didn’t receive it but I asked for him to send it again.) I read the email and job description was vague and it stated that they were conducting an online interview via Telegram. I asked a few questions about the location and the company website which they offered. I researched the company on LinkedIn and contacted the one of the employees there. I replied to "John" that I’ve contacted the company and once they confirmed about the opening then I will pursue. I knew that it was a scam because of the pay, vagueness of the job description and how they wanted to conduct the interview.
